Job Description:

  • To assist in organizing and facilitating literacy events
  • To assist in liaising with the branch libraries, other government departments, local cultural and educational organization, speakers, guest, etc., for organizing literary activities.
  • To assist in the set up and preparation work of programmes, performing duties during the activities and conducing crowd control, etc., and to assist in handling enquiries concerning the programmes, compiling statistics, etc.
  • To carry out research on Hong Kong and Chinese Literature in supporting the related library activities or literary arts, and to update the databases of Hong Kong author’s profile
  • To draft articles, speech scripts or materials for media publicity, interview, ceremonies etc., for the publicity of literary activities
  • To perform proof-reading and editing work for the production of literary publication, and to prepare booklists for literary activities
  • To prepare the publication of promotional materials for literary activities
  • To perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers

Job Requirements:

  • A Hong Kong bachelor’s degree or equivalent is a must, major in Chinese/ English Language & Literature preferable
  • Meet the language proficiency requirements of Level 2/ Grade E or above in both Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent
  • Good command of both written and spoken Chinese & English a must, fluent in Putonghua preferable
  • Have at least 12 months of full time work experience, and experience in planning and implementing cultural programmes, and customer services in similar nature preferable
  • Good knowledge in computer applications, including Chinese Word Processing (Microsoft Word), Microsoft Excel; Chinese inputting is a must, and knowledge in webpage design language & software preferably
  • Self-motivated and mature, communicative and able to work both independently and in a team.
